Mark Strohschein’s (2028) full-length poetry manuscript, Let Us Begin Again, earned honorable mention for the 2025 Sally Albiso Award and was a finalist for publication at Pine Row Press; his chapbook-length collection Sanctuary of Voices is due out at the end of 2025 through Ravenna Press’s Triple Series.

Jenny Apostol’s (2020) previously published flash essay, “A Legacy of Falling,” will appear in the debut publication from Night-Ginkgo Press, Beltway: An Anthology of Writers of the Washington, DC Metro Area.
Bill Capossere (2010)’s 10-minute play, “Worst Interview Ever,” was performed as part of the annual Rochester Fringe Festival Plays in a Day event.
Julie H. Case's (2007) nonfiction book, So They Gather, will be published by Counterpoint Press in 2027.
megan connolly (2025) was recently hired by Maria's Literary Foundation to manage their new Reading Room, a space for kids and young people to read and write, find a new free book to take home, and participate in free creative writing, reading, and literacy programs.
Nancy Geyer’s (2013) essay “Playgrounds & Kurosawa’s Ikiru” won the 2025 Terry Tempest Williams Creative Nonfiction Prize, North American Review, judged by Robin Hemley. Her essay “Each Breath: Remembrances” was a finalist for the same contest.
Eric Gnezda's (2009) memoir, Stories at the Center: A Memoir of Miles, Music and Meaning, will be published by Sunbury Press in 2026.
Carolyn Holthoff (2025) was selected as a writer in residence for the Willa Cather Residency in Red Cloud, Nebraska, which she will attend in October 2025. Writing under the pen name Lena Hari, her short story “The Lookout” was selected as a semifinalist for the Tulip Tree Review Spring 2025 Contest, and her short story “Echolocation” was short-listed for The Letter Review Short Fiction Prize 2025.
Katie Humphries (2021) has a new position as adjunct professor of English at University of Northern Florida in Jacksonville, FL. Katie's short story “Heads Up” is a finalist for the 2025 Royal Palm Literary Awards in the category of unpublished short story. A second short story, “First Kiss,” has been awarded semifinalist status in the category of published short story.
Kalehua Kim’s (2025) book, Mele, was published with Trio House Press in July 2025.
Liz Kingsley's (2025) poetry manuscript, Coming Out Hot, was named a finalist for the 2025 May Sarton New Hampshire Poetry Prize, Bauhan Publishing, LLC.
Lita Kurth (2009) has signed a contract with Thinking Ink Press for her second book, Writing Memoir in Flashes, forthcoming in May 2026.
Buzz Mauro (2008) has recorded five new songs for Alix in Wonderland: A Gender Journey Down the Rabbit Hole.
Tina Schumann (2009) was interviewed regarding her latest collection Boneyard Heresies in Laurel Review. She was a participant in Poem After Poem Round Robin Reading Series. She was interviewed on Sound Poetry for Radio Tacoma 101.9 with David Gilmour.
Dawn Terpstra’s (2025) poem, “penumbra,” won first place for the Lucille Morgan Wilson Award in Lyrical Iowa’s 2025 anthology; “penumbra” was also a Pushcart Prize nominee, Lyrical Iowa, Oct. 1, 2025.
Aldric Ulep's (2022) poetry manuscript, ETYMA, was named a finalist by Beloit Poetry Journal for the 2025 Chad Walsh Chapbook Series.

Brenda Miller’s new book, Love You, Bye, a hybrid collection of poetry and prose, is forthcoming from Skinner House Books in April 2026.
